Dobranyi & Hegyi Foundation
(former Ildiko Dobranyi Foundation)

The aims
The intention of the Founders was to create a foundation whose purpose would be to represent, support and protect the genre of autonomous woven tapestry reborn around the year 2000, a genre which developed in Hungary following the work and teaching activity of Noémi Ferenczy (who wove her tapestries with her own hands) and whose Hungarian branch later became known and recognised, internationally also, thanks to the endeavours of Ildikó Dobrányi (1948–2007) and Ibolya Hegyi (1953-2016) tapestry artists.
